Finishing the lantern

With all the faces cut and painted all that was left was the base. I wanted an elevated base that held the lantern at an angle, however this proved to be extremely difficult. After talking to the technicians I was told that finding the angle for the corners would be hard and suggested leaving them flat.
This was disappointing as I felt the lantern looked squashed. However when constructing it together it was also a safer bet to securely hold together each face. So due to this I went along with the plan and secured each corner together.
As the roof of the lid was so curved it would be impossible to stick the faces to it, to get around this inconvenience i cut a circle of cardboard which also sowed me to routine where to place each slide. With more time I would have got a thinner piece of material and laser cut small images that would also allow light to pass through.
Overall I was not pleased with the outcome and wished I had more experience in all the fields before trying something so complex.
