Lantern

Thinking of signs and symbols used in the Japanese culture and Shinto shrines the names and titles were often written on the lanterns. Shoji lanterns - named for the Shoji paper used - held prayers written on them, and the Tsuni-doro lamps were made in metal copper or wood and used in imperial places. Dai-doro are often found around gardens and shrines, often made from stone would sit in the grass.
My first thoughts were to create a Shoji lantern to write the prayers. However after speaking to our course leader I decided it would be a good idea to expand my technical skills and work with more materials. Because of this I focused on the Tsuni-doro lanterns. More metalic and complex in structure it would allow me to use the lazer printer for extreme detail and work with materials I have yet to use.
